Malith Jayasinghe

I’m a multi-venture business founder from Edmonton, and the owner of XZ1 Recording Ventures Inc. the parent company of XZ1 Recordings, 2009 Records, and more. I start and operate music ventures that help artists and labels grow, retain control over their work, and reach new audiences, whether that’s through release help, digital distribution, audio services, or innovative partnerships. I thrive at the intersection of music, technology, and strategy, creating systems that let creators focus on what they do best, making music.

I plan to pursue NAIT’s Media Communications and Production – Radio and Media Production program, with a dedicated focus on behind-the-scenes broadcast production, studio routing, and audio engineering workflows. My long-term goal is to build a career in music distribution and label operations at The Orchard.
